André Pamplona da Silva
is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from California’s northern coast. André has learned piano, violin, trumpet, oboe, voice, and viola throughout his life. André has studied voice with Katie Thiroux, Rebecca Shrimpton, Peter Eldridge, and Gwendolyn Leathers, violin with Dr. Cindy Moyer and Mimi Rabson, viola through the “Viola for Violinists and Five-String Fiddlers” course at Berklee College of Music taught by Dr. Chelsey Green, and oboe with Michael Kibbe and Barbara LaFitte. He has participated as an ensemble member and soloist at Del Norte High School in the Madrigal Choir, Stage Band, and Band, in the Wild Rivers Symphony, and at Berklee College of Music in Point of Departure Vocal Jazz and the Berklee Advanced Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
André was selected for the California December Honor String Orchestra, Nor Cal Select Choir, Coastal Regional and California All-State Honor Choirs, California All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and NAfME All-National Mixed Choir. In addition to being accepted into these honor ensembles, he soloed in the 2020 California All-State SATB Honor Choir and the 2021 California All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
André was also selected as the recipient of the 2021 DNHS Music Boosters Standring Legacy Scholarship, the 2021 CAJ All-State High School Vocal Jazz Prince Memorial Scholarship, one of the recipients of a 2021 Western Michigan University - New York Voices Vocal Jazz Camp Martez L. Rucker Memorial Scholarship, and a World Tour Scholarship from Berklee College of Music.
André currently attends Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where he has had performances as a part of Point of Departure Vocal Jazz, as a part of the 2022 Career Jam concert, as a part of the 2022 and 2023 commencement concerts, and as a part of the Berklee Advanced Vocal Jazz Ensemble including shared concerts with the fabulous Donna McElroy and the world-renowned New York Voices. In addition to these performances, he has also sung and played for numerous recording sessions, some of which are songs that will be released or have already been released by artists.
André hopes to advocate for disability rights and music education funding in public schools in the future, providing an accessible and equitable world for all.
